zwarte drek

splut

my foot is getting stuck

i’m stuck

i’m stuck in rhyme

don’t rhyme

just rhythm

rhythm

sulfur smell

smell the sulfur

smell the sea

smell 

de zwavel zee

I am lying with my face to the floor

my mouth in my hands fighting 

while they are biting 

the insides of my cheeks bleeding 

from where they started eating 

me from the inside out

breathing hot vapor in my mouth

polluting my brain with heavy fog

twisting their tails around my tong

my vocal cords, my thoughts

tighter and tighter

hardly capable of breathing

I realise I’ve lost

the capacity 

to speak.

Nog niet eerder benoemd, herkent of uitgesproken

gonst er in mij een grondtoon haast onhoorbaar

waarop al mijn cellen mee vibreren.

Je raakte mij al direct de eerste keer dat ik je zag.  

Een vorm van vrijheid liep met jou mijn leven binnen. 

Ik heb er nog geen woorden voor, 

kan nog niet benoemen hoe precies, 

weet niet of het vechten wordt of een zacht verglijden 

maar tegen jou heb ik me nooit hoeven verzetten. 

Zacht stromend ben ik met je meegegaan.
